Modern masterpiece
Dream Theater's guitarist was actively involved in the design of this guitar, down to the last detail. As an accomplished shredder, he made sure that everything was in line with his playing style. That's why the volume control has a push-pull that doesn't split the pickups but boosts them. Indeed, it allows to add 12 dB to the output level in order to obtain a power contribution for the solos! Being a modern guitar, we will not be surprised to see a floating vibrato with two points and six locking mechanisms. The latter optimize the tuning of the instrument while facilitating the replacement of the strings!
