This magnificent crash-ride from Meinl is versatile and highly dynamic. With the Byzance Dark cymbal, you get a deep, dark sound and a natural, earthy character. With both crash and ride characteristics, it allows you to quickly create an open sound, but also to lay down powerful crash accents that quickly fade away. The bell also sounds powerful and integrates well into the mix. This cymbal was developed in collaboration with Periphery drummer Matt Halpern, who needed a very dynamic sound: the B21DDCR has to be powerful enough to cut through an intense progressive metal sound, but the resonance also has to fade out quickly enough for vocals or other instruments to be drowned out. It's an ideal cymbal for all musical styles, and can be played both live and in the studio.
