Thanks to its compact soprano size, the Martin S1 Uke produces very bright tones that are enriched with a pleasant warmth, so that the instrument conveys the spirit of Hawaiian hula music very authentically. In addition to solid tonewoods, the ukulele is equipped with high-quality Hardware and impresses with its traditional, simple appearance. The scope of delivery includes a robust bag with backpack straps.

Construction and woods

The mahogany wood used for the body not only ensures a fast and powerful sound development but also colors the tone with a pleasant saturation. Thus, the mid and treble frequencies come across very full-bodied and defined. The short neck made of Select Hardwood can be gripped very obligingly thanks to a flat profile in all 17 frets, which are set into a fingerboard made of Sipo.

Design and Hardware

High-quality nickel tuners with white buttons are inserted through the headstock, allowing precise tuning of the 4 nylon strings, which intonate cleanly over the entire 346 mm scale length thanks to an interplay of a compensated bridge inlay and a 36 mm wide nut made of GraphTech TUSQ. The matte finish and the delicate decorations give the ukulele a very timeless appearance and emphasize the fine grain of the installed tonewoods.
