Because of its balanced and defined sound, the Martin OM-28E LRB can definitely be called a workhorse for the recording studio, because it is optimally suited for fine Pickings and light strumming with its discreet nature. In addition, it convinces visually with an eye-catching Bold-Herringbone-Inlay and an Aging-Toner on the top. To best tonewoods, the manufacturer chooses high-quality hardware, so that the instrument is qualitatively perfectly rounded. A sturdy ply hardshell case is also included.

Woods and construction

The fully solid construction of the 000-14 Fret Western Guitar consists of a Sitka spruce top that produces defined mid and treble frequencies and an East Indian rosewood body that perfectly complements the sound with warm, clear bass frequencies. The flat Scalloped-X bracing of the top and a wafer-thin finish also ensure perfect sound development even with light touches, so that the character of the instrument is defined by incomparable dynamics. For obliging playability the neck is made of Select-Hardwood with a Modified-Low-Oval-Profile, which flatters the player's hand and allows a carefree grip in all 20 frets. These are set into an ebony fingerboard that measures a generous 44.5mm at the nut.

Design and Hardware

In addition to a timeless design characterized by antique white binding with herringbone inlay and a tortoise pickguard, the OM-28 Martin acoustic guitar features traditional open nickel tuners set into the distinctive headstock. The dark fretboard is marked with Diamonds-and-Squares inlays of mother-of-pearl, which provide a very tasteful contrast to the ebony. To transmit the sound authentically to an amplifier, the manufacturer equips the Martin OM-28E LRB with a high-quality L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup system, which can be individually adjusted via a control in the soundhole.
