Product details
The Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat 12 is the 12-string version of one of the best-selling signature electro-acoustic guitars of all time. It's based on guitarist and composer Tim Armstrong's sixties Fender guitar. The solid mahogany concert-style body is lined with a maple neck with walnut fingerboard and Hellcat dots, and features a tortoiseshell pickguard.
The sound
The solid mahogany top gives this guitar volume, depth and warmth, while preserving the clean tones that allow the Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat 12 to cut through the mix with ease. Its concert-style body, more compact and rounded than the norm, adds a certain bite to the sound. All this, combined with the brilliant tone typical of twelve-string guitars, gives the guitar a very rich sound.
Preamp
In addition to its meticulous lutherie, the guitar's electronics feature a Fishman Isys III mico system. This is equipped with a piezo sensor and an active preamplifier with tone control. Dedicated buttons on the side of the guitar let you adjust the tone using a 3-band equalizer: bass, midrange and treble. You can, of course, control the output volume, and the built-in tuner makes it easy to get the instrument in tune without the need for an external device.
