As well as transforming the sound of your guitar, the VG-800 also acts as a multi-effects unit. Unlike the brand's GM-800, the new VG-800 doesn't focus on synth-guitar sounds, but on the sounds of other instruments. For example, you can transform your electric guitar into a banjo, sitar, bass or even an acoustic guitar.

The device lets you build your own virtual guitar by combining different pickups and strings. The synth sounds included in Roland's GR-300 are also included. To take advantage of these great features, you'll need a Boss GK pickup. If you've got one, it's time for alternative tunings!

The VG-800 features a Dual mode that generates a missing instrument. In guitar/bass mode, for example, if you play the guitar, the VG-800 will automatically generate the bass.
